We genuinely believe that no matter what, ALL KIDS CAN LEARN AND BE SUCCESSFUL IN SCHOOL! The tricky part is that sometimes kids can get behind, discouraged and frustrated. Unfortunately, this has the potential to trickle down into their self-esteem, effort and attitude toward school. Our approach is to really listen and get to know your child and family so we can create a plan to ensure success. Our easy-going teaching styles and mission to make each session fun and engaging is something we strive for with every student. Life and school can be stressful, working with us is not. While we’ll do all we can to motivate kids to work hard in every session, we’ll also strive to make sure we are having fun, smiling and cracking jokes. Learning is hard work but it should also be enjoyable.
After graduating from U of O in 2000, I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Well, I did know that I wanted to get out of the rain. So we moved to Bend to live the outdoor life. That first year I was a snowboard/ski instructor up at Mt. Bachelor. Teaching wasn’t even an idea at the time, I was just doing it for a free ski pass. Turns out I really enjoyed teaching and had a knack for it. After a few more years of being a ski/mountain bike bum I went back to grad school and received a masters in teaching. I student taught in Bend at Jewell Elementary and went on to teach 4th and 3rd grades there for 10 years. After those awesome 10 years I was offered a spot at Silver Rail Elementary which was brand new at the time. I taught both 4th and 3rd grades there as well. I truly feel lucky to have been able to teach for 14 years in Bend!
I love to teach and help kids reach their full potential. All kids can learn and I welcome the challenge of discovering the different learning styles and applying whatever techniques I can can to ensure students are successful.
On a personal note, I really do love living in Bend. My wife (Kate), son(Evan) and I try and take full advantage of what Central Oregon has to offer. When I’m not working, I’m playing. Whether it’s mountain biking, snowboarding, playing music, camping in our trailer, floating the river, a nice hike or a stroll downtown for a slice of pizza, I’m out there enjoying it. Life is good here in Bend.
See ya on the trails. . .

I have worked with children and families for the past 16 years in various capacities. I earned my B.A. in psychology from the University of South Florida, and my Master’s in Teaching from OSU-Cascades. I completed my student teaching at Silver Rail Elementary and then went on to sub for a year, before taking a position at a local charter school, teaching 3rd-5th grade. Prior to teaching, I worked for High Desert ESD, supporting behavior needs of students in classrooms, and working closely with educators and families throughout the district. I love being able to support the emotional and educational needs of children. My approach to education is to make learning as fun and engaging as possible, while fostering a deeper understanding and instilling an appreciation for learning.
I was born and raised here in Central Oregon and feel very fortunate to be raising my own children here. We love to explore and take advantage of everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. In my spare time, I can usually be found outside mountain biking, hiking or paddling. I also love to learn! Currently, I am working toward my yoga teacher certification, and am also learning to play guitar. I am so excited to be a part of Tyler Miller Tutoring and a part of your children’s learning journey!
Hi! I’m Kasey King and am so happy to be tutoring at Tyler Miller Tutoring! I have been teaching for 4 years and as a teacher, I love getting to spend 1 on 1 time with students working on their targeted needs. I find so much joy in making meaningful connections with young children and watching them grow. I keep learning fresh and fun- teaching without students realizing they’re learning. I value teaching in a way to make students love learning and spark their curiosity to be a life long learner. I received my bachelors in Liberal Studies and credential from Chico State. I have my masters from Western Governors University in Curriculum and Instruction with my research in teaching phonics.
I moved to Bend in the summer of 2022 from Chico, CA. I love to be outside- kayaking, hiking, floating, camping, snowshoeing, playing fetch with my dog, doing yoga, or just hanging out! I love to plan & enjoy long road trips camping in the bed of my Tacoma with my partner and dog. I am a photographer and love taking couple and senior portraits in beautiful Central Oregon. I am an animal lover and am currently trying to convince my partner to get a kitten to join our puppy. I am excited to get to know you and your family!

Hi! I’m Tori Guerchon and I am thrilled to be on the Tyler Miller Tutoring Team! I have worked in Elementary schools in various roles over the last 5 years, and am currently on the Student Success team at Juniper Elementary Technology Magnet School here in Bend. I earned a Bachelors in Education from the University of Arizona, and am currently earning a Master of Science in Education Degree from Eastern Oregon University, with a focus on Curriculum Leadership. I am also an Oregon Licensed Teacher and hope to move into teaching primary for this upcoming school year.
I truly love working one on one or in small groups with children to grow skills in all subjects, especially reading and math. I am passionate about focusing on developing specific skills to help excell students in their learning process. I focus on making students feel safe and comfortable in a warm learning environment, so they feel open to asking questions, and trying things that may be challenging – all while fostering a love of learning!
Hello all. My name is Jane Williams, and I am so honored to be part of the Tyler Miller Tutoring Team. I am a recently retired educator who got the privilege of putting my heart and soul into teaching 4th and 5th graders for the last 25+ years… and still love doing so (you don’t retire from who you are!) I love joining with families to help each student see their own amazingness, and give them the extra support they need to step confidently into their potential.
Fun Fact #1— I taught a few years across the hallway from Tyler, my “kid brother” colleague.
“Not-Always-So-Fun” Fact #2 — It took me 21 years after excelling in high school (and a lot of life along the way), before I found my heart’s purpose. When I did, I dove in headfirst. I returned to college, got my Masters in Education at EOU, and was blessed to be able to live out my dream in the classroom… (Be encouraged parents: Late Bloomers can and will bloom!)
As for my personal life: I was born and raised in San Diego, and moved to Tahoe as a young adult. There, I met and married my husband of 36 years, Chris, and had our two sons. We moved to Bend when the boys (and the city!) were small. When I’m living my best retired life you will find me hiking, kayaking, and determined to keep up with my puppy, Harlie. (…Now my hubby and I both have Harleys… Mine is cuter. 😉 )
Hi, I’m Rachel Chozick and I am so excited to be tutoring at Tyler Miller Tutoring! I have been an elementary education teacher for the past 3 years and have worked in a few other teaching positions prior. I am currently an intermediate teacher for Bend La Pine school district. I graduated from the University of Maine with my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in human development. I had the opportunity to work in a preschool classroom, as well as a 2nd and 3rd Grade classroom during my education.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 7 years old and have always loved working with children! One of my favorite things is working one on one or in small groups. This is something I get to do as a classroom teacher, but it is one of the reasons why I love tutoring. I believe that every child is teachable and capable of reaching their unlimited potential, it’s just about finding what works best for each of them. Tutoring is a great environment for this. I am always making sure my students feel comfortable, safe, loved and are in a positive learning environment.
I moved to Bend a little over a year ago from Connecticut and I am absolutely loving it. It has been a really amazing experience coming from the East Coast! I love playing sports, reading, crocheting and exploring the outdoors, especially with my dachshund, Blue! We’ve been loving exploring different lakes and paddle boarding during the summer. I’m really looking forward to getting to know and work with your children and your families.
